Posted on December 26, 2009

There are relatively few accent pieces that one can add to the bathroom other than linens to pick up the Oriental feel unless you are free to completely re-model the space.  However, the shoji lamp just be that accessory that will serve this purpose.  If this term is new to your vocabulary, most of us have all been familiar with the Japanese paper lanterns and the principle is just the same except this fixture has a wooden frame and the rice paper is stretched over this structure.  Often times there are scenes depicted trees, figures, etc. painted on this screening.

You will find that there are many different styles to be selected from.  The shoji lamp is available in many different woods from cherry rosewood, maple, dark walnut, natural, black and honey color.  This variety gives you the liberty to work this lovely accessory into your present color scheme with ease.  The many different models range from the sleek, lines of the Asian influence to the most modern and contemporary styles.  You can expect the inner framework of this accessory to give you excellent service as the framework is make of 100% kiln dried Scandinavian spruce and the screen is hand pressed rice pulp paper.  Only quality products go into the construction process.

In making your selection, the models might be such that you would choose to have them sitting on a table or use as a stand alone lighting fixture.  The shoji lamp is also available in an end table model which might be useful if there is ample space in the bathroom or dressing area.  Regardless of the model or style that you choose, it will be your choice as to which of the many styles fit into your decor.  The simplicity of the window pane effect or the fluid lines that play out in the cylindrical shapes along with the soft illumination through the rice paper will be certain to provide hours of enjoyment for your family and guests.  One word of caution would be to stay within the perimeters of wattage limitations in regard to the light bulb.
